Maxim Peretti. Video Icon. The prototype of the icon of the future. Music, light and universal symbols. The search for "visible truth". “Video Icon” is a work of art that arose as a response to the spiritual needs of a society where Christians practice yoga and honor football players or artists on a par with eternal images. This is the prototype of the icon of the future - an object of worship for people who are looking for answers to their questions no longer in churches, but in the collective experience of aesthetic experience: in cinemas, museums or stadiums. There is no word in the “Video Icons” space - a fundamental category for Christianity. The sacred action is driven by sensual, comprehensible music and light, as well as inexhaustible religious symbols for comprehension. Signs revered for millennia merge into a single image, reminiscent of a cult displaced from the memory of peoples. The ancient god awakened in the modern world points to the common origin of world religions and the eternity of the very idea of finding a higher being. Being a topical work of art in form and spirit, "Videoicona" seeks to preserve the memory of tradition and to reveal "visible truth" - the image of what is incomprehensible. In the artistic action "Video Icons" there is a meeting with the archaic past, growing into the present and going to live forever. About the author: The director and composer Maxim Peretti and the director of photography Maxim Kutyansky are representatives of the modern St. Petersburg underground.
